Homework, homework, tests, and homework

I'm sick of homework and tests!!!! I think I at least passed the test I took tonight. I'm excited for Spring Break next week - going to Brian Head! yayay! :)

This is a pic I took in my first photography class. You can see my notes are all about photography. I was just experimenting with aperture and exposures, but I ended up liking this pic a lot, so here it is!

What dreams may come

We went to a place called Spiral Jetty last weekend.

http://www.spiraljetty.org/

It was BEAUTIFUL. We got up at 4:00 am so we could catch it at sunrise. Me, Annie, and my Pops went. These clouds and reflection reminded me of the movie 'What Dreams May Come'. Good movie. Good times with my family. And I even got to teach my daddy something. It's not every day a girl gets to teach her dad something. I showed him how to use layers and masks in photoshop to combine images, or adjust facial lighting, or increase saturation.

Settings:

1/100s
f5.6
ISO: 100

The inspirers

This is Heri. He is wonderful. He always worries about silly things such as anatomy tests. This last shot was him showing me how much he loves me. :)

These were part of a series I did mimicking the great Richard Avedon. I don't have the exact specs on hand, but they were approximately:

1/6s
f4.0
ISO 200
No flash
Digital Rebel XTI

For the sake of enjoyment

My husband recently told me to do something JUST because it gave me joy or satisfaction. I've thought about that, so now I'm going to do it. I really enjoy taking photos, and I have some that I think are really strong. Apparently not everyone thinks so. :) Since I'm now doing it JUST to satisfy myself, this is going to be a place where I can collect my favorite photos and enjoy them.

I love this pic! It reflects my love of skating. It is a composite of 4 or 5 images, but they were all taken with these specs:

30 seconds
f29
ISO: 100
Focal Length: 55 mm
No Flash
Digital Rebel XTI
