My drawing

I've been thinking lately I really don't consider myself an artist, but I tell everyone I'm a designer. But a designer should be artsy and understand light, and lines and perception, right? Well, I was always taught if I want to do something, I can. I just have to try. So a week or two ago in church, I decided to draw what I saw. This is what I came up with...maybe I'll take some art classes after I graduate. I love school :)

PS...I got accepted as a contributor to 3 stock sites - istock, dreamstime, and bigstock photo. Only 1 image has been accepted for sale so far, but I'm gonna keep trying!

Desolation

Yellowstone National Park

So I log into my email a few days ago, and there is an email from istock. What they call 'hot-shots.' Their fav's for the week. And I see a shot very similar to my shots at Mammoth hot springs.

Then I get thinking maybe I can sell my pics for something. So here I go being all crazy and trying again. I'll let you know when I'm rejected (again :)

Clouds

So there I was, walking out the door to work. As soon as I saw the sky, I stopped, walked back in the house, grabbed my camera and shot a couple rounds. Ever since Matt Turley came to my photography class and showed us what he can do with clouds in photos, I've been intrigued by them. I think they are SO beautiful, though hard to capture (at least for me), and can enhance almost any photo with an uninteresting sky.

The Park

I haven't been out shooting for a while, so we went to the park last week, and took some pics (Kaylene - thanks for the inspiration!). You might think this pic is kind of boring, but to me it is so beautiful. We were laying on our backs lookin up at the trees just relaxing. No pressing homework, no job stress, no stress at all. Just a beautiful relaxing day with my hubby. :)

It was also super fun to watch the crowd at liberty park. If I ever get up the guts, I'm going to pull a Richard Avedon, and show up with a white backdrop, and just ask random people who look interesting to me if I can take their photos. There is a HUGE variety of people at this park. I love it!
